What is the Workload?
The workload of the class is split into three main areas: Classwork, Homework, and the Final Project. In general, you should expect about 2 hours of out-of-class work for each class, totaling 4 hours per week. The out-of-class workload is meant to reinforce the learnings from the previous class, prompting class discussion and helping folks find real-world examples. On the other hand, the final project acts as a culmination of all the skills introduced in the class, putting it all into practice.
1
In class, you’ll be expected to follow lectures, taking relevant notes and answering questions. Classes also include guided code exercises, where we all make the same product to introduce implementation concepts. One-on-one support is always available!
2
There are two kinds of homework. The first is research-based. You’ll look for examples of what we discuss in class, write a few sentences, submit that to Blackboard, and present it in class. The other kind is independent code implementation practice.
3
The final project is the product of the second half of the course.
You’ll work together in a group to design and code a single
website and present your design thinking using the concepts from
class.This site is
the product of one of those projects!

For each class you can spend up to a total of two hours of outside work time!
